Some of the stages that I use do not work in this new winmugen. It would say that there was an error in the sprites (it's not the charaters, because they work on other stages). I used Sff24to8 on the stage's sff file and it does not do anything (I used CharSffDtoW on my characters and it worked). Also, these stages work on the regular version of Mugen. Any ideas?

EDIT4: Never mind what I said here, except about changing the .def file; read this quote from updates.txt:
Stages: [Shadow]: "reflect" parameter moved to [Reflection] group, renamed to "intensity". value now ranges from 0 (none) to 256 (full). Older stages with "reflect = 1" should be changed to "intensity = 128" to achieve the same effect. Basically, just delete the reflect parameter from the "Shadow" group, create an "intensity" switch in the "Reflection" group, (not sure if you have to create it, or what - I'll know later) and if reflect was "0," then set "intensity" to ")." If "reflect" was "1," then set "intensity" to "128." For information regarding the process of converting the actual sprite file, refer to my post down below... Yes there is; just grab the Sff24to8 program; it's found somewhere on this board, at the top; oh heck, I even hosted it at my site; here...
http://www.geocities.com/anewonline/mugen/winmugentools.html Grab the tool there. It should fix the sff file, but for the stage, I told you what must be done. Read updates.txt if you're confused. Just do what it says, and you shouldn't have any more trouble... Any more problems, go ahead and e-mail me: anewonlineyahoo.com Okay? Later. EDIT: It may help to tell you, that you must drag the .sff file for the stage onto the Sff24to8.exe file, which means that you must have it wherever you keep your stages, and you must be in Windows; it will not work on the command line. It might help to give a link to the thread instead of "somewhere". because i've run into 2 threads which say "somewhere" in the forum but no luck finding the actual file...
i attempted to use my char sprite conversion file on the stages but that didn't seem to work... one last thing... your site seems to be down... i get a 404 error... or yahoo/geocities' version of one. This post has been edited by Unessential on Nov 7 2004, 05:47 AM |

Hmm...that conversion tool (using it just how you said) only brought of a DOS prompt-looking window that VERY quickly closed and didn't seem to do anything for the stage I tested it on (Castlevania) and the Castlevania .def file didn't have any reflection group or Reflect parameter in the Shadow group...
And I just tried it with this Kirby-Nightmare Battle stage I had, which actually had the 'reflect-1' parameter and I did exaclty what this post said, but it still doesn't work :/ This post has been edited by Breakman on Nov 13 2004, 04:07 AM |

Yes, as well as changing the .def file; most the stages had no reflect, and one that did, still didn't work when I changed the file like he said.
Although, I ran all my maps that don't work with WinMUGEN through and one actually WAS fixed that, if I remember, didn't work before, a Yoshi's Island map :P I'm a little mad that none of my Sonic maps work at all though.. |

You know, it's not always the sprite file's fault, that you can't run a stage...
If they crash the game, it's possibly the sff path's fault, having \ inst. of / If you want it to have a reflection, you use intensity = 128 under [reflection], where the values are from 0, which is nothing to 256, which is a solid sprite. If you don't have a shadow, it's probably bacause the [shadow] format was changed a bit. All of that can be found in the docs and the two orginal stages that came with mugen (stage0 and kfm). :P This post has been edited by Sion on Nov 13 2004, 10:17 AM -------------------- "I'm a GIRL, damnit! >:("
