For those of you experiencing bad MP3 playback, I have found a solution to fix it.

This also applies to those having the MP3 Playback extremely slow, stuttering, or extremely fast.

Start Menu --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Sound and Audio Device Properties

The first tab contains the Speaker Settings

Next to the Speaker Volume button is the Advanced button. Click advanced.

A new window will pop up. There will be 2 tabs.

Click the Performance tab

In the Audio Playback box, locate Hardware Acceleration and slide the panel from Full to None

This, I've found, fixes the sound problems. But it's a pain turning it off and on again i feel when you've finished using M.U.G.E.N. All other apps (emulators, games, movies, etc etc) require the Hardware Acceleratio to be Full.

But it fixes it for now ... for me anyway. For anyone else reading this with the problem, I would be grateful if you could post your feedback.

ALSO, as for the Mugen stops working bug, it happens to me at 2 minutes sometimes, or I could go 20 minutes and over without problems ... unsure.gif

Excellent, it worked. Thank you.
EDIT : it also works with "Minimal Hardware Acceleration" enabled but not with higher values.

I've found this will fix a lot of music playback programs in games (like GGX PC). If you want to save yourself some time, just click "Apply" and leave the window open while you run MUGEN, then set it back and click OK to close it after you're done.

I've tried that and my sound quality still doesn't come out properly on the newest DOS version nor the WinMugen version.

Do you have the correct plugins then? Like the in_mp3pro.dll one, since the other mp3 plugins suck.

Notice that it's for WinMugen only. Dos one will sound shitty no matter what you do.

Also reviving almost a half year old topic wasn't a good idea.
