Here's one: YMAMP v20 or YMAMP v2.0b ( in_ym.dll ) to play gym and cym files. You could have got it at http://smsoft.zophar.net/ but it's broke or gone. I got it at Zophar's Domain (won't post the link cause it has things that can get me shot ).
Also, if anyone finds something better, hint us in, cause I'm having playback problems just by using the plugin with winamp. -------------------- i 'M gULLY TO tHE FULLIEST b!!!11

hi everyone!
i'm new at this winmugen stuff, ánd i'm having some roblems... well... 1) i added the plugins names in mugen.cfg...ok....they work... but some of my stages don't load the music they were supposed to,... the bg i'm talking about is the final_evolution (7MB) - very nice with 3d efects... creator's e-mail: Jakku_no_keshin_DIO@yahoo.com the other bgs DO load the mp3....why this one doesn't? i checked the all "/" and they are all fixed....but still no mp3 load for this bg... ----------------------------------------------------------------- 2) sometimes, when a bg loads a mp3, the MP3 doesn't start from the beggining...starts from the middle on.... it happens to you guys too? ------------------------------------------------------------------ 3) i got a bg that is playable in winmugen but the image is all messed up... (sewer - kof99) every movo of the chars gets copied to tb bg... like this: if you walk...every frame will be displayed behind the chars...and if you walk back...every frame will be displayed ahead of the char...messing up more and more the bg.... weird huh? ----------------------------------------------- hope you guys can help me cya This post has been edited by jeffrei on Jul 10 2004, 05:47 PM |

1.) The obvious answer here is, try changing the default MP3 plugin. It doesn't support freqs. bigger than 32KHz (I'm not sure about this number, but in the readme you can't find it) and the playback isn't good.
2.) I think this is not the correct place to post this question, but anyways.... seems like that BG have 16bit sprites. That sprites are not shown and since mugen does not clean the entire screen to draw every frame, (unless you set debugbg=1 in the stage .def), what you see are the remainings of the previous frames. Not requesting, but maybe a wma plugin would be any good...
And also a modular music plugin (mod, xm, etc...) would be also good since default playback of these files is horrible, I can't get it to play in the same quality of DOSMUGEN even after I increased mod channels (voices)... |

Scour your winamp folder for such plugins. If I recall correctly, older winamps had those plugins as standard-issue. -------------------- ROTBRC - Like a quiet volcano... |

I don't have Winamp (I use Jetaudio) but I'll download it now!
Version 5.x will do or do I need to get an older (2.x) version?? |

I'm using Winamp 5.03 and it's working perfectly with psf, adx, snes plugins. No need to worry.

Winamp is an amazing program, I had forgotten that...
Got no luck with the in_mod.dll from winamp 5.03 (the latest version) it would just not palyback any modular music at all... Well, guess I'll have to learn to live with half my mod music playing like orcs screaming... You know, I have the feeling that increasing mod voices in mugen.cfg is not working at all... bug?? Here's another MP3 plugin for ppl who are having problems...it works fine for me, except there is a very slight pause in the game everytime it starts (or loops) music.
